Wild Dartmoor Donations

In collaboration with Dartmoor National Park and Devon Wildlife Trust, Dartmoor Zoo are proud to announce a dedicated exhibition focusing on conservation dependent native species of relevance to Dartmoor and the greater Southwest of England is being developed; Wild Dartmoor.

Wild Dartmoor will feature Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris), Pine Marten (Martes martes) and Hazel Dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) in purpose designed habitats, in addition to our already existing European Wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris) habitat.

Located at Dartmoor Zoo, Wild Dartmoor will look to explore the complex issues surrounding effective conservation of these and other iconic species using static and interactive interpretation supported by video presentation including live and recorded video feeds from the exhibit.

Focusing on the particular challenges posed by the landscape, culture, heritage and economy of Dartmoor the exhibition will take the viewer on a journey where they will be able to form their own opinion on what the right approach to managing the ecology of Dartmoor may be.

By donating to Wild Dartmoor, not only will you be actively responsible for the creation of these incredible habitats, but your funding will directly contribute towards conservation and rewilding efforts of these spectacular species.

Thank you.

If you'd like to donate an amount that isn't here, please call us on 01752 837645 or email zoobase@dartmoorzoo.co.uk.
